Transmission hump finished, floor work, trans casting date, resurfacing rusty parts.

Finished welding and filled all the holes in the part of the tunnel that is staying. Ground down the ones that I could get to.

Finished removing all the seam sealer from the back of the pans. I can see the spot welds now. Going to do the pans one side at a time and will wait until they are cut out to drill them so I can work from inside.

Looked a little closer at the casting date of the t5 transmission. The 93 in the sun burst means it's a 1993 t5 which is nice because it will hold 300 ft lbs torque and the only other better t5 is the cobra spec and that adds another 10 ft lbs. (Later i learn this, the motor and the rear end came out of a 94 cobra) probably rims and brakes as well.

So I have decided to reuse the trans cross member and the clutch dust cover which are both pretty rusty. I am going to put them in a rust remover bath, metal rescue and then coat in vht chassis / rollbar black epoxy paint. I will then redo the welds on the cross member because it looks like they were done with no shielding gas and have tons of impurities. They look like Swiss cheese when you grind them back.

I pulled off the drivers side ground effects. No holes on the rocker panel but the ground effect mountings are all rusted out. Very common and easy to fix. Just drill out the pop rivets and throw the new ones on. Now I can squeeze the inside of the frame rails flat with clamps and bend the pinch welds back. Its all pretty much jack damage I am finding so at least it's not accident related. I started straightening the back of the pinch weld and it moves pretty easy.
