Drivers side seat mounts plates

1 seat mount in, 1 to go. There is a reinforcement plate over those mounts so the welds have to be ground back also.
I have weld through primer on the plates so I had to push the voltage 2 points above what I would set it at for 20 gauge because it was sputtering.

I put some more time into shaping the brace. I'd say we are close to a 1/16" all around. My new plan is to pilot drill a hole in each corner like 1/8" and drop in 4 hex head sheet metal screws but use ones that are stainless (stronger) and not self tapping to get a better hold in the metal. The self tappers are weak when they make the hole because they remove too much material so if you put toque to team they just pull out. Then once the brace in position I'd put pilot holes in all the spot weld points and put screws in to really pull it close to the floor for welding. The remove and plug weld one at a time.
The only other option is heat and beat to get it shaped right, and under the dash with the small work area, I do not want to put that much heat and I can't swing on it the way I'd like.
