Tunnel cut and found cheap long welding clamps

Tunnel is cut and ground down, almost ready to spray with weldable primer, and pre-drill the spot welds in the new hump.


Love harbor freight, exactly what I need.


Here's something of a mystery I just figured out. I have 2 factory holes with divots on the transmission tunnel under where the radio would be, but there are no connections from the center console there. I did find a picture of a stock support bracket that looks like it goes there. Since I will never run a stock radio I will be closing these up, but that's going to be a tough weld.

Installed the new flywheel.  Installed the new clutch.  Installed the clutch fork and throw out bearing  And then the bell housing  Installed a new transmission tailshaft seal.  I built a sled to drag it into place under the car and there's a bolt that fits the center of my jack through the center board. I may have to pull the shift cause there's exactly 19 inches under the pinch weld and thats the same to the shifter nub.

Oil pump and pick-up install

12/10/2018 New oil pump and pickup tube installed and torqued to spec. This ones not mangled. Next is to check oil pan pick-up clearances and warm up the gasket and drape it over the pan for a while. I am probably going to have to heat the garage for 24 hours to get the rtv to set right.
