Rear suspension torqued and steering rack finished

I started the day torquing the rear suspension. No big problems there. Before I was finished I got an email the steering rack bellows was delivered. 1 day was unexpected.
I thought the stainless zipties would be the nice ones that auto cynch but they were the manual locking ones which are a pain. So I used the original crimp tie that came on the rack and a self locking stainless ziptie I had on hand.
Now I just need the steering shaft parts and I am back to a roller.

Next up is painting the top coat on the underside and e-brake cables.

Installed the new flywheel.  Installed the new clutch.  Installed the clutch fork and throw out bearing  And then the bell housing  Installed a new transmission tailshaft seal.  I built a sled to drag it into place under the car and there's a bolt that fits the center of my jack through the center board. I may have to pull the shift cause there's exactly 19 inches under the pinch weld and thats the same to the shifter nub.

The great battle of the seat belt bolt was won.

The great battle of the seat belt bolt was won. After trying 4 different ways of removing this annoying bolt over 3 sittings, I had to take a drill and tap to it and some still remains in the hole. I sliced the head and hit  it with a old school impact driver from the top and the bottom, cut the channel wider and stuck a piece of angle iron with a pipe wrench into it. I welded a bolt to it and the bolt sheared in the middle, not even at the weld. I hammered a socket over the bolt and that just removed material. I heated it up until the paint around it bubbled. Finally I just used a 1/4 drill bit and went through it and then a 3/8 bit which is the largest I can go with a small chuck drill. Then a 7/16 tap with a 1/4 inch socket extension upsidedown to get the clearance to actually turn the tap.

sn95 V6 mustang intake and head gasket replacement day 1

So the time has come to change the head gasket and lower intake gasket on the sn95 1998 mustang V6 with 124k. It's got a clear miss on cylinder 5,6 and smokes white after it's warm. Hasn't overheated yet because I have avoided using it. I'll thread as many fasteners back into place and the rest will get bagged and labeled. Disconnected the battery. (Heard a horror story of somebody bumping the starter by bridging the solenoid with a tool) it's an auto but still paranoid. Removed the intake hose. Disconnected the throttle and cruise linkage. Popped the vaccum lines off the top of the intake. Disconnected the coil pack. Pulled the plug leads and labeled them 1-6. Removed the coil pack from the mount. Started siphoning the coolant which may have some oil in it. Removed the serpentine belt.
